Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

Ok... Sara covered last night's ACC action here. Elsewhere:

Stanford won the Pac 10. Stanford played an intense, aggressive game, making Coach VanDerveer (who never wanted a conference tourney to begin with) proud. Arizona made a good run in the second half, but it wasn't enough to overcome their slow start.

Purdue won the Big 10. Coach Curry says this isn't the most talented Purdue team ever, but they played tough enough to win the tight game. OSU had a 3 to win the game at the end, but it didn't fall. Such a wild and close game might help the Boilermakers get prepared for the dance.

UConn advanced to the finals. The Huskies actually trailed by 7 near the end of the first. But, as usual, they pulled it together and won. Conlon had some key threes. Villanova beat Miami in a game that was special for senior Trish Juhline. 'Nova coach Perretta is proud that his overachieving team is in the finals. He knows they can't compete inside, so they plan to launch lots of threes...

The finals which start in a half an hour. I'm gonna cut out early to go watch some of it...
