Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

Texas Tech beat K State in a great game, setting up an in-state rivalry show-down for the Big 12 championship. Natalie Ritchie, with a concussion, may not be able to play. [UPDATE: she's outta the hospital, and will be a game-time decision.] The Wildcats made some mistakes down the stretch, and ended up with their second loss to Tech in a week. K State will likely end with a worse seed than they were hoping, and might get shipped out.

Texas forced CU into 23 turnovers, and made it to the finals, giving it a shot at its first Big 12 tourney title. The Denver Post says a bad charging call on Bjorkland was the turning point in the game. The Boulder campus daily reports that Texas won by putting ball pressure on CU guards, and denying passes to Bjorkland.

In other news, the Philadelphia Inquirer has this story about the ongoing party at Villanova following the crazy upset win.

In coaching news, Kentucky is looking at Tennessee assistant Mickie DeMoss. The rumor yesterday was that Texas A&M is trying to convince Coach Barmore to come out of retirement. That would be a coup.
