Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

USA Today had this article looking at gender and WNBA coaches. It suggests that many women now working as assistants will be ready to take over as head coaches, and that the trend of male coaches will reverse.

Probably the most interesting point here is that, in the past, male coaches (coming from the NBA) have done better than female coaches (coming from college) because the men are more hands-off.

"Most of the women who've coached in the WNBA, we all came from a college background," said Linda Hargrove. "We came from really intense practices, two-a-days, not really thinking 10-year careers."

"In college, coaches are so much in control," said Chamique Holdsclaw. She likes how coach Adams "is not all up in your business. We're grown women, and everybody has to take care of their business. Michael understands that."
