And another case of sexual misconduct may be broadening into the college ranks. Daniel Simmons is already facing criminal charges based on allegations that he assaulted players while a high school coach in Texas and New Mexico. Now investigators are trying to determine whether anything similar went on during the '91-'92 season, when he was an assistant at Colorado under Ceal Barry.

"Something may have happened at the University of Colorado," said DA Gloria Garman. "We're investigating it through the university. It looks like he's certainly taken advantage of his position as a coach to exploit girls who are there for a much different purpose."
