Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

There's a little history in the works today. Annika enters the final round of the LPGA Championship with a five stroke lead.

She's going for the second leg of the Grand Slam, her ninth major, her third straight LPGA win, her sixth win in eight tournaments this year, her 62nd tour win, and her 14th straight round in the sixties.

She has lapped the field. The other golfers (it's getting hard to call them "competitors") seem to fall apart around her.

If you tune in today (3 ET, CBS), you'll also get to see how Michelle Wie is coming along.

They changed the rules this year and added an exemption so that Wie could play. That didn't sit well with some players.

But Wiesy is once again proving that she belongs; she enters today's round tied for third. She probably has no chance to catch Annika, but top-10s in majors are always nice.
