Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

The Sun imploded in Indiana, faltering badly against a nonstop press. Connecticut led 29-20 at the half, but allowed a tie at 40 and never recovered.

The Sun as a whole turned the ball over 24 times, by far their most turnovers, and fewest points, on the year; only Indy native Katie Douglas looked good. Lindsay Whalen had five turnovers, five fouls, four assists and just three points; she calls the performance "inexcusable."

Nykesha Sales: "We didn't handle [the] pressure very well. And obviously, 7 of 17 free throws is not going to get it done. We have not seen [a press] in a while, and I don't think we were very prepared. I don't think the whole game we set up to break the press."

Indiana celebrates. Coach Winters: "Because we pressured virtually the whole game, we didn't allow them to get into a comfort zone on offense. They were always looking to figure out, 'Well, how are we going to start our offense?'" Catchings had 18 points, nine boards, and eight steals.
