Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

Monday, January 02, 2006

After an unhappy first half, Purdue regained the lead and got past Ohio State; OSU could have won it but missed a last-second trey. Aya Traore scored 23 points despite stomach flu.

Davenport, shockingly, scored only 10. How did Purdue stop her? Lindsey Wisdom-Hylton: "We knew Davenport was the center of their team and everything worked off of her. If we could shut her down, we can shut their team down.

"They were kind of confused at some of the plays; they were kind of lost. That's because Jessica wasn't able to get all the easy looks that she usually does."

Further discussion here and here. Was Graham Hays right?
