Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

In Zgoda's morning Strib article, Natasha Williams's father explains why she left the Gophers:
I couldn't allow my daughter to go through this misery. Pam's people skills are not good. She really doesn't know how to encourage anybody. She calls them selfish -- 'you guys are selfish, you guys are bringing the team down' -- and it wasn't only two or three girls, it was everybody. My daughter would call me at night, crying.
Coach Borton denies that she ever blamed players for the team's struggles this year.

Kelly Roysland's father denies rumors that she is leaving too.

Athletic Director Joel Maturi says Borton is still "very secure" in her job. He was also heard to say, "Pammy, you're doing a heckuva job."
