Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

Friday, May 12, 2006

Cappie Pondexter hit a jumper with 6.1 seconds left to give Phoenix a 85-84 win over Detroit. The game took place at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, NY and many of the 4,100 fans were there to see former UConn players Diana Taurasi, Ann Strother and Swin Cash.

To the disappointment of those fans, Taurasi injured her leg in practice on Wednesday and was not able to play. Kelly Miller also missed the game for the Mercury with an injury.

Edit: Box score is now up.
