Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

Minnesota took out Houston at home. The Lynx looked good in a sloppy-but-eager young team sorta way. The Comets, for the most part, looked like they didn't care.

Tina Thompson scored at will in the first half. In the second half, the Lynx sent double- and triple-teams at her. She scored 16 in the first half, only 3 in the second.

"It was tenacity," said Adrian Williams. "Sometimes Tina would come over, and I'd think, 'I'm done.' But then a guard would come over. It was a great coaching strategy, and it worked."

"It's been the same; it's been happening for awhile now," Thompson said. "We just play through it. I'm used to it now. I just think that as a team we are seeing it a lot more often. We just have to make those adjustments."

But the Comets didn't make any adjustments. The rest of the squad wasn't able to take advantage of the openings created by the focus on Tina. And once the Lynx started to pull away, Houston threw in the towel.
