Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Indiana. Coach Versyp left for Purdue, and the Hoosiers graduated three starters who accounted for most of their scoring last year.

But under new coach Felisha Legette-Jack, Indiana is off to a 7-1 start, including a win over Notre Dame yesterday.

Nikki Smith led with 18. "Nikki has been the best-kept secret in our Big Ten Conference for a long time,” Legette-Jack said. “You’ve always got a chance when you’ve got a great shooter like Nikki on your team."

Notre Dame fell to 4-3. "We've got to find someone who can make a shot," coach McGraw said. They better find someone soon -- on Wednesday, Purdue comes to town.
