After losing the last three of four, Sherri Coale shook up the starting line-up and her Sooners responded and dominated Texas 78-58 in Norman.
Coale put freshmen Amanda Thompson, Jenna Plumley and sophomore Ashley Paris in the starting line-up with Courtney Paris and Erin Higgins. The change obviously worked. Coale credits Plumley with the passion and energy her team played with, especially in the first half.
All three of the new starters made their presence known, but Courtney Paris still did her part collecting her 51st consecutive double double with 27 points and 15 boards.
For the Longhorns, the game was essentially over at halftime. But Jody Conradt did get her team to recover and adjust enough to outscore the Sooners in the second half by six and slow down Courtney. "Ultimately, they broke our backs with some threes. And Courtney really demands a great deal of attention. To do that and try to guard the people on the perimeter is a hard task for any team."
