Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

Monday, February 12, 2007

Though they're still a threat, Oklahoma has fallen fast: on Saturday the Sooners lost to Texas A&M, which has now swept their season series.

OU blew the first half, and lost the game, despite the usual (25 and 14) from Courtney Paris: the Sooners' 24 turnovers had something to do with the outcome (I've never seen an Oklahoma game where the guard play looked sharp), as did an astonishing 25 each from Aggie guards Starks and Franklin.

More astonishing still: A&M did it all with their biggest star apparently far from healthy. Atunrase played, but didn't start and barely scored-- her ankle must still be a problem.

OU have dropped three of their last four. "We are not having fun and not being Oklahoma," said Courtney. "We have to get swagger and we don’t have any."

They could get it back on TV at home against the Longhorns: the game starts at 7pm Eastern tonight on ESPN2.
