Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

The Vols are heading back to the finals.

Parker didn't have a great game, shooting just 3 for 12. But she rallied the troops down the stretch and spurred Tennessee's defense-first comeback.

"We just did not want to go home," she said. "We were looking at each other and saying, 'After all the stuff that we have been through to get to this point and not to seize the moment would be a total waste.' Everybody on the floor, everybody on the bench, everybody in the stands wanted it, and when you have all of that it's hard not to fight for your team."

UNC had been up 12 with eight minutes left, but then everything fell apart. Lots of turnovers. Lots of fouls (including some questionable calls, sending Pringle and Little to the bench). And no scoring.

"We gave it away," Erlana Larkins said. "And the refs ... sure didn't help."

Latta had open looks in the final minutes couldn't connect.

"I'm sorry," she said postgame. "I'm just sorry because I felt like we should have won. I had the shot to tie the game and I just couldn't knock it down. That just makes it worse."
