Brianne O'Rourke led Penn State to a nationally-televised upset over the struggling Dukies. PSU spent most of the first half canning three-pointers and breaking the Blue Devils' press; Duke spent most of the second half coming back, tying things up with seconds to go, but O'Rourke found frosh Janessa Wolff for a layup that gave the home team the win, and gave the Big Ten its first really notable victory in this year's nonconference play.
O'Rourke finished with 23 points, including a perfect record from the free throw line, and eight assists; she has very good court vision, and decent speed (and cornrows that love the camera). O'Rourke also has a new coach, who could keep the Bryce Jordan Center dangerous for ranked visitors.
Duke, on the other hand, has a problem: coach P (who has never won at PSU) has now lost three in a row. "It was a very entertaining game, obviously," she shrugged, noting that Wanisha Smith (hurt hand) didn't play. "We'll be a team to check back with as we get healthy."
