The Sun handed the Lynx their first loss of the season 78-77 as Ashja Jones hit a jump-hook shot with 19.7 seconds left.

The last few minutes of the game saw the Lynx rally from a 10 point deficit to take a five point lead only to followed by a rally by the Sun. Jones finished with a game high 25 points. Tamika Whitmore had 18 and Lindsay Whalen added 16. The Lynx were led by Seimone Augustus and Candice Wiggins, who combined for 39. Both had the ball in their hands in the final seconds of the game but could not get a shot to fall.

“Our three veteran starters stepped up tonight,” Mike Thibault said. “That’s a heck of an effort, especially after the last couple minutes when we had given everything back plus (more) and then got some stops when we needed it.”
