We're not going to apologize for our collective failure to blog Saturday's games, because we are busy people (maybe too busy?) who do this for fun.
On the other hand: we give you Sunday's.
1. Connecticut demolished the Mystics at the casino. Whalen, Jones, and company blew the lid off after halftime, winning the third quarter 29 to 12.
The win gave the Sun the East's best record, but it also came against a pretty bad team. Coach Thibault says he gives the Sun a B+; what's missing? "I want more consistency in finishing games."
2. Ticha Penichiero schooled Lib rookie Leilani Mitchell: the Monarchs veteran scored a game-high 18 (also her season high) as Sacto pulled away from NY at the Garden.
3. Back at home, Minnesota took care of the Silver Stars.
Wiggins came off the bench to sink 13 of 14 free throws; neither side shot well. "We couldn't sink a three-ball in the ocean," said coach Z, who has to be happy with his team's 6-1 start.
So, finally, are Lynx fans. When the Sun-- who beat the Lynx two days ago-- play them again on ESPN2 tomorrow, the team with the best record in the East will face the team with the best record in the West.
Raise your hand if you predicted that one. Any hands? any hands anywhere? You in the front?
