Updating the Maggie Dixon Rookie Coach of the Year Watch on the almost-eve of conference play. (A rookie coach is defined as a first year head coach in NCAA Division I)
Alabama -- Wendell Hudson (Stephany Smith) - 12-3 (Samford, MTSU, Louisville)
Ball State -- Kelly Packard (Tracy Roller) - 7-5
George Washington -- Mike Bozeman (Joe McKeown) - 7-5
North Dakota State -- Carolyn DeHoff (Amy Ruley) - 4-6
Ohio -- Semeka Randall (Sylvia Crawley) - 4-7
Temple -- Tonya Cardoza (Dawn Staley) - 6-4
UCLA -- Nikki Caldwell (Kathy Olivier) - 9-2
UC Santa Barbara -- Lindsay Gottlieb (Mark French) 4-6
Added:

Boston College - Sylvia Crawley (Kathy Inglese) - 10-3

Northwestern's Joe McKeown. Yes, they're currently 4-11, but consider Joe took over a program that had gone 24-95 since 2004. And they just gave #17 Ohio State a bit of a tussle. Noted a friend:
While the Wildcats have 10 losses, its scoring margin is only -3.4, meaning that for the season it's scoring average is only 3.4 points less than its opponents. Northwestern is a young team (9 of 14 players are freshmen or sophomores) and its best player, Amy Jaeschke, is only a soph. It may take a while to reach its full potential, but things are looking up for Northwestern.
Makes one wonder what the criteria is for "success."
