Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

UL made it all the way to St. Louis despite the ignominious end to their year within the Big East. Coach Walz tells Louisville journo Eric Crawford how the Cardinals recovered from their February disgrace.

"I told them it was embarrassing," coach Walz recalls, "and it was embarrassing because they quit. Now, [UConn] is a great basketball team, and it's going to take a team playing as good as anybody can possibly play to beat them, but it's no reason to quit."

Also from Louisvile: a long look at the Cardinals' Keisha Hines, whose grandmother died on the day of the Maryland game. "It was hard to smile when people congratulated me," Hines tells UL's hometown newspaper. "But I know she would be proud of me, and that's helped."
