Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

It's interesting that Becky Hammon and the SASS are featured in the USAToday article on the balancing act between the W and the European/etc. leagues (guess the topic never gets old).

Why? The piece opens:
Like many WNBA players, Becky Hammon spends the winter competing overseas, as a point guard in the Russian Super League. Her contract with CSKA Moscow provides her financial security, and the competitive play allows her to stay in peak shape. But the San Antonio Silver Stars guard is routinely forced to miss WNBA training camp and preseason games due to the long Russian season.

You may have to add "and games" to that, albeit away games against (perhaps) New York and Connecticut. Go to Rebkell where you can follow "As the Becky/Russian Contract Turns" through the many pages of confusion, translation, questions and, it seems, doublespeak and see what you come up with.

My two cents: If Becky is SCHEDULED TO MISS away games and the news DOESN'T GET OUT TO FANS I might be tempted to press "Bait and Switch" charges against the league. Can you imagine how many will come out to attend the Lib/SASS game just because Becky's playing?
