Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

The good news for coach Rizzotti is that her team won last night's American East semi-finals v. Stony Brook.

The bad news? Hartford may be without the services of Erica Beverly, who became the first Hartford player to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

The good news? As they go up against Vermont (on the 13th?), their resume (might. all but. should?) guarantees their invite to the Dance if they lose to the Catamounts.

The other good news? In a year where I'm going over aesthetics over number-crunching, I would far rather a team like Vermont (if they win the Championship and auto-in) as part of the tournament than, say, North Carolina or Maryland.

Nothing against them, really, but give the best of the mid-majors a break and let those kids strut their stuff on national t.v.!
