Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

It wasn't really an upset: Vermont beat Hartford to win the America East tourney. Hartford's senior captain Erica Beverly didn't play, having torn her ACL earlier in the tournament.

The first half wasn't even competitive, but Hartford came back: playing at home, the Hawks held UVM to long stretches without a point in the second half.

UVM's Pilypatis-- along with Alysha Clark, maybe the most talked-about midmajor player this year?-- sealed the win with a late trey. (I was excited to watch the game to see what she could do, but found it hard to follow after watching OU-OSU: Hartford didn't seem able to stop anybody from doing anything in the first half.)

UVM's guys also won the America East: it's going to be a very loud night in Burlington.
