Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

It's been a disappointing season for Beth Burns' San Diego State team, but the Aztecs are liking the odds in Las Vegas.

First, they used a late run to overcome Wyoming, 60-51, in the first round of the Mountain West championships. Then they dismantled the BYU Cougars (77-47) in the semi-finals and earned a trip to the Conference finals.

With a victory, the Aztecs can earn a bid to the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row.

They'll face Utah, who stunned #1 TCU, 69-57, behind Halie Sawyer's career-high 24 points and 15 rebounds.
"We've been kind of waiting for this," said Utah coach Elaine Elliott. "Halie has the capabilities. Kids can make people pay and she absolutely did so tonight."
In the two previous games with San Diego State, Utah won 73-55 at home and 51-42 in San Diego.
