Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

Monday, July 11, 2005

A few days ago, Detroit's Elaine Powell apparently clocked Coco Miller. Miller returned to the game unharmed, and no foul was called.

After reviewing the tape, the league has suspended Powell for five games, for throwing what USA Today calls an elbow, but fans who saw it call a punch.

It's not the first time Powell has had anger-management issues: she was suspended without pay for the rest of the Euroleague season this March after pummeling a fallen opponent. The case may produce assault charges in Poland.
