Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

Michigan State came back big to upset Purdue at Mackey. The Boilers wilted after the break, and State's Mia Johnson put her team ahead with a last-second three.

State's Jefferson tallied 15 and 12, Purdue's Wisdom-Hylton 15 and 10. Wisdom-Hylton also blocked nine shots for the losing side. "They wanted it harder than us," she said.

After losing to Purdue, Penn State and Rutgers last month, the Spartans have now won four in a row; the Boilers, by contrast, had trouble at Minnesota-- as did the Buckeyes, who handled Illinois last night minus Hoskins, who will miss the year after reinjuring her Achilles.

Last month the Big Ten tournament in Indy looked like a walk-through for Jim Foster's team: is the tourney title now up in the air?
